Draped Sasanian-style bust to right, wearing elaborate mural crown; behind head, ‘GDE ʾp̄zwt’ (‘[may his] glory increase’ in Pahlavi); before head, ‘plhwyh / [W] plwcyh’, i.e. ‘frāxīh ud pērōzīh’ (‘prosperity and victory’ in Pahlavi); in the margin, ‘Muḥammad rasūl Allāh wa alladhīna āmanū maʿahū ashiddāʾ ʿalā al-kuffār ruḥamāʾ baynahum’ (‘Muhammad is the Messenger of Allah, and those who believed with him are hard against the unbelievers, compassionate among themselves’ in Arabic).
